Online Technologies Corporation Expands

New Michigan Data Center Provides an Addtional 10,500 Square Feet of High Availability and Disaster Recovery Solutions

Online Technologies Corporation of Ann Arbor, Michigan, announces today it has acquired a new data center in Michigan. The 10,500 square foot data center, named OTC-Avis was previously used by Thomson/Medstat and is located in Avis Farms, a prestigious high tech park south of Ann Arbor.

OTC-Avis will have fiber connections to Online Technologies Corporation’s other data centers, allowing it to uniquely provide highly scalable high-availability and disaster recovery solutions.  The result is the ability to knit together geographically dispersed data center infrastructures into one “virtual data center.”

OTC-Avis will house Online Technologies Corporation’s growing co-location and managed service product lines sold to medium-sized businesses in the Great Lakes. Customers generally use Online Technologies services for high availability for Internet applications and disaster recovery for IT infrastructure. “We are very bullish. Mass digitization, combined with increased technology complexity and threats are driving demand for infrastructure. Companies in the area need a safe place for their data and most want it local from a firm they know and trust,” said Ty Myers, vice president of sales.

OTC-Avis is scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2007, when it will be available for colocation services and to house Online Technologies' corporate headquarters. OTC will retain the data center and offices at City Center.

“We take a long term view so it’s time to buy capacity. The current economic environment provides us the opportunity for significant cost advantages that can last a decade,” said Bob Palmerton, chief financial officer.

“This data center was very well maintained by Thomson/Medstat. We’re confident it will be extremely competitive and provide a fantastic infrastructure for our customers,” said Dale Adkins, vice president of operations.

With this acquisition, Online Technologies Corporation has grown from one 800 square foot data center in 2003 to four data centers with a combined total of 53,900 square feet. In addition, Online Technologies has leased from a third party capacity at two data centers in Southfield for companies requiring service closer to the Detroit area.

Online Technologies Corporation (www.onlinetech.com) is Michigan’s Fort Knox for computing and data.  Our secure, highly reliable data centers provide the infrastructure to ensure our clients’ computers are always on; their data is always safe, and they are always connected to the Internet.
